On Aug. 28, Fusebox Poet, Attalus and Brandon Kirkley and the Firecrackers will be taking the stage right here on campus at After Hours in the Cone Center at 7 p.m.. Here’s what each band had to say about the upcoming stop, along with some of their plans for the rest of the year.

Fusebox Poet

UNC Charlotte offers a unique variety of people from both Charlotte and around the country for us to connect and build our support with. We couldn’t get this type of opportunity anywhere else in Charlotte and that makes UNCC a great opportunity.

Currently we are locking in details to record and release a single with a national producer. Other than that we’ll continue to write and record new songs on our own, try to lock in a booking agent, and continue moving forward with our group.

“I’m pumped up for school to be back in and to have a show at the University so early in the year. We consider UNC Charlotte our main home fan base, so being able to make an impression on new students right away is always important to us.

We released our new album to a big ‘ole Charlotte crowd in late April and this is our first real show since then. We’ll have another in late September or early October. We’re working on the schedule and plan to play 2-4 regional gigs a week from late Sept. through the rest of the year in support of ‘Years.’

We recently released a video for our 1st single from the album, ‘Settle It Down’ (which you can download for free at BKTF.net) and it had 1,200 views in the first week, so we’re really pumped about that. It’s also linked on our website and YouTube.”

Attalus

“Well we are excited to see our good friends in Fusebox Poet and come back to Charlotte again! We played at Amos Southend earlier this summer and we are excited to have the opportunity to come back again! We are also excited to go back to Amelie’s bakery; we love Amelie’s Bakery in NoDa!

Well we have a couple things going on, we are currently working on our new album which will be a concept album entitled ‘Into the Sea,’ a 15-song album, we are working on partnering with a PR company to help promote our music and we are also going to be recording/releasing a music video for our song ‘One Defining Spark’ off our latest album ‘Post Tenebras Lux’ before the end of the year!”
